1. What sets custom outdoor cushions apart

Custom outdoor cushions differ from off-the-shelf products in three ways: fit, material quality and craftsmanship. While hardware-store cushions come in fixed standard sizes and overhang, sag or leave gaps on every other piece of furniture, every Lulu-Belle cushion is individually cut for your furniture. We make every measurement individually, with a guaranteed tolerance that scales with size (up to 100 cm max. 1 cm, over 100 cm up to 2 m max. 2 cm, over 2 m up to 3 m max. 3 cm). This tolerance exists because the foam core is delivered rolled and vacuum-packed and expands again once unpacked, depending on humidity, packing time and compression. Custom sizes cost no extra.

The material difference matters at least as much. Lulu-Belle uses exclusively 100% olefin cover fabrics – water-repellent, UV-stable and dirt-repellent by material property, not by chemical coating. The foam core is mattress-grade PUR foam: shape-stable, water-repellent, and it keeps its shape even after years of intensive use. That's reflected in 740+ reviews with a consistently high rating.

Every cushion is hand-sewn in our own workshop in Szentgotthárd, Hungary. No mass production, no subcontractors, no middlemen. That makes Lulu-Belle one of the few providers in the DACH region where "custom-made" really means custom-made.

2. Sun lounger cushions and custom outdoor mattresses

Sun lounger cushions and outdoor mattresses are the heart of our range. For every type of furniture – a classic teak sun lounger, a modern aluminium lounger, a Bali daybed, an outdoor bed or a pool lounge – there's a matching model.

The Miami lounger cushion is the elegant choice for classic wooden loungers: slimmer, more elegant, with a softer feel, available from 6 cm thick. The Marocco outdoor mattress is the sturdier option with mattress-like lying comfort, available from 8 cm thick – ideal for daybeds, outdoor beds and pool loungers where you spend longer stretches of time. Both are complemented by the Milano bolster cushion as a neck support and the Tulum wedge cushion as an ergonomic back support.

3. Seat, bench and lounge furniture cushions

Dedicated custom-cushion lines exist for garden benches, lounge furniture, pallet sofas and outdoor armchairs. The Nizza bench cushion is the most versatile model in the range – suited to classic benches (45 cm depth) just as well as deep lounge furniture (70–90 cm depth). It's configured in any length, depth and thickness.

To complete the set, pair it with the Monaco back cushion – especially important for lounge furniture with a low backrest or none at all. 4. Outdoor cushions, back cushions and accessories

Individual cushions turn a set of pads into a coherent look. The Cairo outdoor cushion comes as a square standard seat cushion in several custom sizes. Anyone looking to maximise the comfort of a lounge or a daybed can combine it with the Milano bolster cushion as a neck or armrest support and the Tulum wedge cushion as an ergonomic back support for sun loungers.

A tried-and-tested set idea for a lounge: three Cairo cushions in 40×40 cm in an accent colour, two Milano bolster cushions at the head and foot end, plus a continuous seat and back cushion in a calm base tone. That creates visual depth without clutter and comes remarkably close to the premium lounge feel of a hotel resort.

For custom cushion sizes – such as rectangular 60×40 cm lumbar cushions, round seat cushions or special shapes – it's best to ask directly by email. Lulu-Belle fundamentally makes everything to individual measurements.

5. Material: 100% olefin and PUR foam

Lulu-Belle relies on two core materials for every cushion: 100% olefin as the cover fabric and mattress-grade PUR foam as the core. Both materials are specifically engineered for intensive outdoor use and are the central reason why custom cushions last considerably longer than typical hardware-store standard products.

Three olefin qualities are available: Standard (for covered areas and occasional use), Premium (for daily use in the open garden) and Premium ZigZag (Premium quality with a ZigZag design pattern as a visual accent). 6. XXL, special and custom sizes

Most industry-standard sizes range from 60×180 cm to 100×200 cm. Lulu-Belle also makes every XXL format up to 200×200 cm, as well as custom sizes at no extra charge. Typical use cases: Bali daybeds at 200×140 cm, pool lounge islands at 200×200 cm, outdoor beds at 180×200 cm, or pallet sofas with custom sizes like 240×120 cm.

For very narrow benches (30–35 cm depth), antique wooden benches with unusual dimensions, or special seating areas on treehouses and children's garden furniture, there's likewise no technical limit. 7. Care, storage and seasonal use

With the right care, outdoor cushions last many years; with the wrong treatment, often just one season. The most important routines are refreshingly simple: wipe down regularly with a damp cloth, use mild soapy water occasionally for tougher marks, stand cushions upright after rain so water can run off, and store them dry over winter whenever there's frost or snow.
